It is apparent that widely regarded Renzo Gracie Black Belt, Shawn Williams, has parted ways with Sean Patrick Flanery owned Hollywood BJJ academy in California. Numerous rumors throughout the internet are blaming the separation being caused by differing business ideas. Hollywood BJJ is now officially a Paragon BJJ affiliate.
News has already surfaced stating that Shawn will be soon opening a Renzo Gracie LA location.
Consider this before forming an opinion. Williams has a history of this sort of thing, Sean Flanery does not.
Does nayone know where Shawna is teaching now or how to contact him? I went to the last name place that he was said to be teaching, a judo school on Olympic in L.A., but the peopel said that he had long since left. Any help woudl be greatly appraciated. I was only at his school for a short time before I needed to stop training for surgery. But in the time I found him to be one of the best bjj instructors I have had the pleasure to train with. Thanks.

@Consider This: Doesn’t surprise me when you say that Williams has a history of this sort of thing. He seemed to me like somewhat of a flaky character and I had a feeling he was not going to last. To his credit though i will say that he was a good instructor.
Wow, I can’t believe anyone could actually have a bad opinion of Shawn. He’s easily the nicest guy I’ve met in my 15 years in Jiu-Jitsu, and that’s saying A LOT! Don’t believe what you read online…

@Consider this: Perhaps you are easily confused and know nothing about character… I’ll assume you’re a bit off and didn’t realize your comment about Shawn Williams being a FLAKY character was truly meant for Sean Flanery… ( one of the sketchiest guys around, wouldn’t know honesty if it punched him in the face, which one day, perhaps it should). You obviously don’t know Shawn Williams at all. If you did, you’d know he’s one of the most loyal, honest human beings walking this earth. Shawn is a man of integrity.
