Roger Gracie, grandson of Carlos Gracie and 6-time world BJJ champion, has been forced to pull out of the Abu Dhabi Championships set to take place the 26th-27th of this month in Barcelona, Spain. Gracie initially suffered a bout of mumps and upon his return to training strained his knee, which would not be healed in time for the submission tournament. The 27-year-old Brazilian was set to compete against  Robert Drysdale in a super fight.

Drysdale, current ADCC absolute champion, has not commented on the matter of Gracie dropping out. ADCC officials have yet to announce who Drysdale’s opponent will be, or if they are even continuing to have a super fight.
